Wall Art For The Living Room
Wall Art For The Living Room

WALL ART FOR THE LIVING ROOM

Art breathes warmth and personality into the home — at Laasya Art we believe that art can provide not only beauty and ambiance in one’s space but also a vital connection to our culture. As art consultants, we help clients identify the paintings that speak to their aesthetic tastes and heritage, while making sure all the artwork flows well together. We also help clients prioritize which walls and spaces will have the most positive impact in their home, and clients frequently begin the art buying process with the living room, as it is a high-traffic space where they spend the most time with family and friends.

Below are some examples of wall art that clients have acquired for their living room over the years — some of these works were readily available from the gallery, while others were commissioned specifically for the space.

PAINTING BY ANURADHA THAKUR

Washington, D.C.

This was one of the most colorful homes we have curated — different rooms had brightly colored accent walls, including this cobalt blue wall in the living room. This client was drawn to artworks that had similarly vibrant colors, like artist! Anuradha Thakur’s paintings. We tried out a few different paintings by Anuradha above the sofa, and the size and vibe of this canvas fit perfectly.

PAINTING BY JAGANNATH PAUL

California

In their brief, the client shared their ideal vision for a smaller sized, more modern artwork that would suit their small condo in San Francisco. This work by artist Jagannath Paul fit the bill perfectly — it comprised nine 12 x 12 inch artworks that we laid out aesthetically on canvas board.

COMMISSIONED PAINTING BY RAMESH GORJALA

California

The clients had always admired artist Ramesh Gorjala‘s works and deeply resonated with the theme of Hanuman as the main deity in the painting. We showed them a few samples of Gorjala’s paintings featuring Hanuman, and as the narrow panel above the fireplace could not accommodate standard canvas dimensions, we recommended that they commission a painting to perfectly fit the panel.

COMMISSIONED PAINTING BY NISHANT DANGE

Texas

The bold style of artist Nishant Dange complemented the modern aesthetic of this client’s home. They decided to commission a painting by Nishant for the living room, so we experimented with three color options — blue, red and yellow for the background — and ultimately settled on a golden yellow color, with scarlet details on the butterfly wings.

PAINTING BY BHARTI PRAJAPATI

California

These clients were specifically seeking Indian art for the living room and were immediately drawn to artist Bharti Prajapati. They shortlisted a few paintings by Bharti to ‘try out’ in their home (for select artists, local clients have the opportunity to install work for a trial period). The size and color palette of this particular canvas fit their space beautifully, and after just 24 hours, the family decided to move ahead with this painting.
